Change has come to the PBPD. In the first 16 years years from 1996 to 2012 non-university graduates were encouraged to take part in the diplomate certification process.
Beginning 2013, the requirements to participate in this process were modified.
It is now offered only to graduates of university or hospital based advanced pediatric dentistry programs with a minimum of two years training.
